Explore Spain’s rugged Costa Blanca Mountains on “The Downhill Bike Ride” while gliding downhill for at least 30 kilometers on a bicycle. At the beginning you hop into a minivan and take a journey to the highest mountain of the Costa Blanca – the Aitana Mountain Range.
On arrival, pull on your helmet and hit the road! Spin down mountain roads to the villages of Penaguila and Alcoleja. Admire sweeping views inland and over the coast to the Spanish shoreline.
In the afternoon, wild animals will be waiting for you while you roll into Sella or beyond. After all, enjoy a refreshing drink in a local bar before you hop back into the minivan for the journey back to your accommodation.

“The Downhill Bike Ride” is suitable for all ages. Therefore, you don’t have to be an experienced cyclist. Many guests have not ridden a bike for decades.
All of the equipment is supplied. However, it is best if you wear sensible shoes and leave the flip-flops for the beach and the heels for the nights out.
You will be transported uphill by mini bus and then ride downhill all the way. However, you can cycle as much or as little as you like. The mini bus will always be there for you.

09.30 AM – 10.00 AM: Pick-Up
- Pick up at your accommodation in or near to Benidorm.

10.00 AM – 11.00 AM: Transport & Bicycle Testing
- A 45-60 minutes drive into the mountains to our base at Safari Aitana where you’ll be fitted with a safety helmet, receive a detailed safety talk and be allocated a bike. Please, test ride the bicycle prior to departure to get used to the bicycle.

11.00 AM – 01.00 PM: 15 Kilometers of Downhill Cycling
- The first bike ride takes you to the village of Penaguila stopping on the way to ensure your comfort. Have a drink of fresh spring water while the bikes are loaded onto the trailer.
- Another downhill glide from the highest point of the ride into the village of Alcoleja.

12:45 PM – 2.00 PM: Meals
- Lunch at Safari Aitana or in a local village. The lunch is not included in the price. You can bring a packed lunch or order lunch at the Safari Park / a local bar. The lunch is between 6-11 € incl. one drink per person.

2.00 PM – 3.00 PM: Ca. 15 Kilometers of Downhill Cycling
- The afternoon ride leads you past the village of Sella where the bike ride ends.

3.00 PM – 3.30 PM: Refreshments
- Into a local bar for a beverage to celebrate your achievement and receive your certificate as proof that you’ve ridden at least 30 kilometers through the mountains of the Costa Blanca.

3.30 PM – 4.00 PM: Return Journey

Very good service, friendly tour guide, amazing experience
Went on the bike ride with my dad and friend, we enjoyed it a lot, the tour guide was extremely friendly and made the tour very enjoyable for us. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do a good quality bike ride in Spain.

This is an excellent adventure that is far more than just downhill cycling ! You get to see the beautiful Mountains and scenery (and the odd Tiger and Elephant !) with 2 guides who are extremely knowledgeable about the area.
I had not ridden a bicycle for a number of years but this was not an issue. Clear instruction given and the routes were designed to gradually increase your confidence.
We travelled circa 25 miles / 40 km and i was not tired or saddle sore at the end.
Tony and Kris were a pleasure to spend the day with. Tony even put up with all my friends bad jokes !
I can highly recommend this tour. We were a group who wanted to get out of Benidorm for the day and this activity was perfect.

Had a fabulous day today on the Down Hill Bike Ride today. Great tour through some amazing villages with wonderful views with friendly and supportive guides . Strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to do something a bit different and ditch the sun lounger. Suitable for any level of cyclists ! History of the surrounding area a great bonus.

We had intended to do our adventure two years ago but the Covid outbreak put a stop to that. Fortunately on September, 2022 we managed to tackle the bike ride. My mate Graham and I were not disappointed. Everything was so well organised, and with five other people we had a wonderful time. At the grand old age of 84 I wasn’t out of my comfort zone surprisingly, and would encourage anyone interested to give it a try. You will not regret it. I’m hoping to go back again sometime.

We had an absolutely fantastic day on the downhill ride with Tony and Tony. It was a truly exhilarating experience with stunning scenery and a real sense of achievement at the end. Our fellow riders were a friendly bunch of mixed ages and nationalities. Tony’s knowledge of the area was an added bonus and we were well looked after throughout the day.
If you’re worried about your age, fitness levels or anything else, don’t be! Book your adventure now and you won’t regret it! I’m happy to say there were no aches or pains the next day!
Looking forward to joining Tony again for the Caminito del Rey of the Costa Blanca walk in 2 months time.

My husband and I had a fabulous downhill bike ride with Kris and Adam as our guide. Helmets, gloves and optional warm jackets were provided on the day. The trip is extremely well organised. We were picked up from our hotel and returned there later too. We had a choice of lunch options and our group of 6 chose tapas at a local bar/restaurant organised by Kris. Great choice and good company. Adam was very knowledgeable and made regular stops on route to explain our surroundings and wonderful views. I’m an inexperienced and rusty bike rider and I enjoyed the whole experience immensely.
Well done Adam and Kris, we have recommended this to people we’ve met on holiday and will continue to spread the word.

Dave & I had a fabulous day on the downhill ride. It was great fun & Kris & Adam were informative, efficient & fun guides. The ride was very well organised & the group enjoyed spectacular scenery & shared a lovely lunch & a much needed drink at the end of the ride. I would definitely recommend this ride, have already done so to fellow tourists & I will be booking it again when I revisit Benidorm with my sister in May. Dave & I are experienced leisure cyclists but some group members were not & no-one (even the young boy) needed ‘rescuing’ by the mini bus en-route. It was cold though & very thankful for Kris,s supply of scarves & extra thick gloves!! Thanks to Kris & Adam for a great experience & happy memories to take away with us.
