Standing 1408m tall, just 7 km from Benidorm’s coast, the Puig Campana is the most famous and striking landmark in the area, visible from all corners of Costa Blanca.
The walk starts on the mountain’s northern slopes – interestingly known to be slightly cooler than the south – with some excellent views of the surrounding valleys. The reward of reaching the summit make this strenuous walk so worthwhile as you are presented with spectacular views of the Aitana – Costa Blanca’s highest mountain range – to the North and the beautiful coastline stretching from Calpe to Alicante towards the South.
If you’re lucky you might even see the island of Ibiza rising out of the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.

On request we can as well alter the route for less experienced walkers taking in the circular route around the base of this iconic mountain.
Furthermore, experienced walkers have the possibility to prolong the walk taking in the summit of Ponoig – the “sleeping lion” – or returning to our minivan via a different route.

09.00 AM – 09.30 AM: Pick-Up
- Pick up at your accommodation.
09:30 AM – 10.00 AM: Transport
- A 30 minutes drive to the village of Finestrat where we park the van to start our walk.
10.00 AM – 03.00 PM: Walk to the summit of Puig Campana
- Starting directly under the significant notch of the mountain we walk up the Northern slopes passing the “Refugio”, Coll de Pouet and the big scree slopes to the summit. On the summit we take in the stunning views along the coast line and inland.
03.00 PM – 04.30 PM: Return to you accommodation
- After the walk we take you back to your accommodation with an optional stop at a local bar en-route to have a drink to celebrate your achievement.
